Travel Tips I was recently in Costa Rica for the summer which is the low season for them, so that may make a difference. I flew from Denver to San Jose round trip for about $650 with a months advance purchase. I have heard of people paying less coming from other states such as Florida or Texas. One thing you could check out is to see about flying to maybe Mexico first and then continue to Costa Rica, i know ticket prices in third world countries are considerably less. For example you can fly from San Jose Costa Rica to Honduras for maybe $150 american. Another possible way is to check out cargo ships, this sounds a bit strange but i met some folks while i was in Costa Rica that offered a cargo ship captian cash to let them ride along and camp on the decks.
