Travel Info Going to costa rica in a few weeks, any suggestions on great things/places to go? Travel Tips Arenal is a must do as there are multiple things to do around the place: see the active volcano, visit the hot springs, or have fun in the zip lines. Monteverde is the main rain forest and if you like nature this is a must. For surfing I am familiar with Tamarindo and Malpais as good spots nearby a small beach town, so you can have some additional fun. As to San Jose there is not much to see there so if you skip it you won't be missing much. Others I went with a class from college. San Jose (the capital city) is good for at most 3 days. It has great nite-life, but on the coast is just as good and even better! Try to visit both coast (Carribean and Pacific side. They are totally different. Don't forget to go to the highest point in CR. They have a great cloud forest you can walk through on suspension bridges. There lots of great info. on yahoo travel. if you are the rugged self-sufficient outdoors type -- jungle trekking in Corcovado to the ranger station on the SW coast is amazing but a tough slog. Incredible wildlife. Remote. |
