When making 8-hr cruise shore excursion to Puerto Limon Costa Rica is it necessary to take anti-milaria drugs?

Travel Tips
I don't think so! I haven't heard of Malaria in years, in fact since I was a child, I think it is a very rare desease.

However I found this web site, which may be helpful for you http://www.mdtravelhealth.com/destinatio... but I must tell you that I am not sure if that information is accurate

The only disease I know that we have been struggling with is "DENGE", which is transmitted by mosquitoes. But if you use mosquitoes repellent you'll be fine, and ONLY if it is not treated on time it could be fatal Source(s): http://www2.ncid.cdc.gov/travel/yb/utils...

Other Travel Tips
Not at all. There's no malaria in Costa Rica. What you may bring is an insect repellent just in case you go to a place with some mosquitoes, but don't you worry about malaria.
I live in Limon, Costa Rica.
