What is the fastest way to get from the airport in San Jose, Costa Rica to Jaco? |
Travel Info I'd like to use public transportation. I'm not renting a car. Travel Tips if you are a tourist, the last place you want to go to is Jaco beach. it is filled with tons of viejo verde gringos and underage tica prostitutes. Unless you are an old gringo who is looking for a young latin prostitute. The beaches there arn麓t very nice, there is a terrible undertow in the ocean, and there are practically no restaurants located on the beach. But if you still want to go, and don麓t want to take a cab, you can use the bus. There is a bus stop directly in front of the airport that you can take to central san jose. from central san jose you need to go to the coca cola bus station which is located close to the childrens hospital. inside the bus station there are two different ticket booths, so you need to make sure you are at the right one. the booth for jaco is the one that is not inside the shopping plaze. Buy a ticket there, i think they cost about 1500 colones or 3 dollars, make sure you get an extra directo or directo pass or your trip will take like 4 hours. if you get a directo ticket the trip will take between 2 and 3 depending on traffic. then to take public transporttion back to san jose, the bus station in jaco is next to the pizza hut. The service is good, the cars are confortable, and the price is ok. You can ask this service from the airport to anywhere in the country... it麓s very common for people to take this service to go to Jac贸 Beach and it is fast because you just go out of the airport, take the cab, an let the driver to take you t your destination.
