How bad is Costa Rica's "rainy season" in June and July?

Travel Tips
I have spent the month of June and the first week of July in Costa Rica since 1997. June and early July are not bad. Sometime during late June or early July there is actually some very dry weather. It is called the Veranillo de San Juan. That's one of the reasons there are school vacations in early July.

In the Mountains (Monteverde, San Jose, Central Valley etc) it is generally clear in the mornings and rains in the afternoon/early evenings. On the Pacific Coast the rain is less predictible but you will have sunny time for the beach. The Atlantic Coastal Area is actually no different during the rainy season than the rest of the year. In fact the driest times in the Atlantic tend to be the wettest elsewhere.k
Its not that bad!!! It is sunny and hot, a little humid too... Here at CR we have vacation during that time, specially in July... we all go to the beach to enjoy the last days of the hot season
