Recommendations of things to do in costa rica? |
Travel Info heading to Costa Rica for a week in April and would like to hear what others have enjoyed. Travel Tips I recommend you first get a guide book on Costa Rica at your book store or library if not done so, there are a lot of things to do, rafting is my favorate on Rio Pacuares, second Volcan Arenal and hot springs, Tortuguero canals lots of birds and wildlife. Park Manuel Antonio has beautifull beaches and lots of monkeys, a week is short so you might want to do this mostly with organized tours and spend a few days at the beach. There are some few inexpensive hotels and B&B you can make a search Casa Girasol clean and people are very friendly I recommend you stay in Sabana Sur, San Jose there is a huge park, food is inexpensive also if you like seafood you might try Princessa Marina and a peruvian restaurant Machu Pichu in the edge of town. Enjoy Others I specially like the beaches, the pacific side is really nice but I do not recommend Jaco, too crowded. Then there鈥檚 the rain forest which is amazing you can go to Monteverde or any of the national parks. There is also a wide variety of extreme sports like bungee jumping, white water rafting, canopy tours and other activities. Another great thing to see is the Arenal volcano but you have to be lucky and get nice weather to see it all, it鈥檚 an active lava volcano so it鈥檚 a beautiful at night, you can stay in the near town of La Fourtuna. There is a lot to see in Costa Rica. Your destinations of choice might depend on your age group. For young people, young adults, etc. you might enjoy Jaco Beach, Tamarindo Beach, Montezuma. LaFortuna/Arenal volcano area and Monteverde. Puerto Viejo. If you surf, Dominical, Jaco, Mal Pais. Families and older people like me enjoy Fun Adventures Tour, Poas and Arenal volcanos, River tours like Tortugero,Sarapiqui or Ca帽o Negro. Manuel Antonio at Quepos is my favorite beach. Get a Lonely Planet book, they tell it like it is.... look up these names here on the net or in the book to help you decide. Oh, and by the way.... its all just wonderful.....anyone answering might put my list in reverse! Have a great trip. |
