Costa Rica or Belize: If only one, which one? Where should we go, what should we see/do?

Travel Info
Looking for beautiful beaches, peace and quiet, hiking, exploring jungles, seeing wildlife...

Travel Tips
Costa Rica is more geared towards gringo tourists. If you don't speak Spanish, and don't really want to learn it, Costa Rica is going to be easier for you.

Belize is more rugged, the tourist industry isn't as well developed, but if I recall correctly, they have better Mayan ruins than Costa Rica does. But Belize is also poorer, and it'll be harder to get all the comforts of the States there.

Conlcusion: if you want a relaxed, comfortable, touristy experience, go Costa Rica. If you want to be closer to the authentic culture and don't mind escaping the tourism industry, go Belize.

I have done all of that In Costa Rica. If you are lookihg for some culture, but yet some US comfort, I reccommend the Heminway Inn, in San Jose. The people there will help you schedule any adventure you want to see. Volcanoes, Jungles, canopy tours, and the beaches are great , on either side of the country.

Costa Rica rules!!!
Is a wonderful country, safe and healthier than Belize. Is not that humid, the weather is fantastic!! specially this days of the year. You have to see some beaches in Guanacaste (I recommend Tamarindo), Poas Volcano, Orosi Valley, canopy or horseback riding in Ecolodge Tilaran, San Jose (the museums, and restaurants such as Terranostra, Macchu Pichu, and Cafe Mundo) Pubs and Bars such as The Pub, Van Gogh, Sambuka, or Hooligans. Anyway is wonderful, I also recommend The Hemingway Inn, or Pico Blanco Inn.
Have a wonderful vacation!!!
Depends of want are you looking for. Belize has this particular culture, is like a burble in centralamerica, because its colonial past, you麓ll find more of this backgorund everywhere, the buildgings, the roads, the docks. Costa Rica doesn麓t have this strong differenced kind of culture, we are simplier, we don麓t have those old militar colonial buildings, but we have this simple culture that make us easy to know, easy to deal with. We all have good thing, obviously I preffer CR (I am CRan, jeje :).
