What's the best cruise line for a family vacation?

Travel Tips
For a family I would say either Carnival or Disney. Disney is great for kids and for the parents. They are probably my favorite cruise line, or very close to it. It is relaxing and enjoyable. The shows are amazing, there are lots of activities to do on board. The kids can go into the clubs and will have a blast, many times not wanting to leave at all. The food is wonderful and the staff is so helpful, they are amazing. Plus, the rooms are a little larger than other lines and it is very clean.

Carnival is also great for families. There are alot of activities for kids. This is popular among families and college kids, so there is a lot of partying, gambling, smoking, drinking, etc. going on. Carnival is one of the lowest cost lines you can take. If you can afford the difference, I think Disney is much, much better. Carnival can be dirty and the staff isn't as helpful and I haven't been as impressed with the food. Also, I don't really like all the partying and stuff that is going on. But they are still a good cruise line, especially if you don't mind this.

It really depends on what you are looking for, where you prefer to go and what your budget is. Royal Caribbean is priced between Disney and Carnival and is also pretty good for kids, another line you may want to check out.

Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions

Hope this helps

That would really depend on the ages of the children traveling and what they are in to. If you are traveling with younger children I would go with Disney for obvious reasons. They tend to go more "all out" to keep younger kids entertained, and children are always fascinated with the Disney characters. If you have teens and "tweens", I would go with Royal Caribbean. They have specific programs and areas on their ships designed to entertain children in specific age groups. For the older teens, they have arcades and a teen lounge area. They also have (on certain ships) an ice skating rink, in-line skating track, mini golf, excellent pool areas (on the new ship, Freedom of the Seas, they have an area where you can surf!), and the youth host/hostesses are great.
