Travel Tips san jose has all the problems of any large city and for it麓s size i would say it is realatively safe, especially in the center. However, in my opinion there is nothing special there that you couldn麓t get in any other big city in the world, so it is completely worthless to visit. Unless you have family or friends there, there are a million other more interesting places to visit in C.R. Source(s): have lived in CR for 9 months and visited San Jose over 40 times. Other Travel Tips yes, it is still worth visiting but yeah there is some crime problem there....plan on getting pick pocketted, mugged in broad daylight...you know the stuff that makes your vacation a real delight...you are still a gringo...now that your a us warmonger(iraq) you might try to explain to the locals that dont drive cars...or own them..why... seriously, yeah get a cheap hotel in the centro and enjoy. world book cia Yes, it is good, but there are many better places in Costa Rica. I was there last year as part of a big corporate trip. If you can find a way to travel with others....tour buses, local guides, etc., I would think you could minimize the personal risk. I agree with the last responder that there are better place to visit in Costa Rica, namely the Los Suenos area southwest of San Jose down on the Pacific coast. Pure Vida! A trip there in 2005. |
