How r the people in costa rica? |
Travel Info How r the people in costa rica? Travel Tips In general people are very nice and helpful, so long as you don't act like an "ugly tourist" (someone who speaks loudly, assumes that others should know their language, gets drunk in public, or things of that sort). Costa Rica gets a lot of money from tourism, and they're pretty used to foreigners. They really appreciate it if you speak Spanish, even if you only know a few words. If you're not a Spanish speaker, try to learn a few phrases before you go. If you're off the beaten path, no one will speak English. Before I went to Costa Rica, I was told that people there are *extremely* friendly. While I found people to be perfectly nice, I didn't think that they were nicer than folks in the other countries I've been to. Others The are great! Because it is a democratic (free) country, it is not safe to go out at night in big cities because of drugs. Tons of gringos, so you should feel right at home. The beaches are full of gringos and everywhere else pretty much caters to gringos. The "natives" are very receptive to gringos too. the most are nice if you are nice, now let me tell you that costa rica has many ethnic groups, pacific ocean side=mestizos, white, chinese and american people use to live in this area.atlantic ocean side=black, natives, chinese and european.this is the magic oin costa rica, varieties.like languages:spanish,english(usa)... jamaica),natives dialects, chinese etc... I just spent a month in Costa Rica and the Ticos, as they call themselves are great. Most people are helpful and nice, and they welcomed me wherever I went. I want to move there now because of the wonderful experience. |
