Immunizations before going to Costa Rica? |
Travel Info My son is going to Costa Rica in about 20 days for his high school graduation present. Should he have any immunizations before going? Travel Tips We do not recommend any particular vaccinations or profilaxis to our clients visiting Costa Rica. As far as we know CDC does not either. However, we do advise our clients to ask their family practioner of general doctor for a more definitive answer that takes into consideration their health history and any existing conditions. Good luck, Carlos http://www.lava-tours.com Others tetanus shots up to date and A LOT of insect repelent specially now that its raining live in cr for almost 10 years now!! Modified 11 months ago I live in CR and there are no dangerous diseases, your son should have the normal shots everybody has. But no danger in getting a strange disease. Live in CR Just the normal stuff, tetnus and perhaps hepatitus A and B. If he is going to spend any time in rural areas along the Nicaraguan or Panamanian borders, a malaria drug (chlorquine) is recommended. In general, the public health situation in CR is very good and in most places it is safe to drink the water. |
