When are the times of the seasons in Costa Rica, and the rest of Central/South America? (winter, summer, etc.)

Travel Tips
Costa Rica is a tropical country and experiences only two seasons: rainy and dry. The dry season is generally between late December and April, and the rainy season lasts the rest of the year. The Caribbean coast tends to be wet all year. Temperatures vary little between seasons; the main influence on temperature is altitude. San Jos茅 at 1150m has a climate that the locals refer to as 'Eternal Spring' with a low average of 15掳C and high average of 26掳C. The coasts are much hotter, with the Caribbean averaging 21掳C at night and over 30掳C during the day and oppressive humidity, and the Pacific, which is a few degrees warmer still. Costa Rica's climate is considered the healthiest climate of the world according to a NASA research.

Depending on the altitude and the region in which you are, you can find a great variety of microclimates. Cool, wet and very green mountain ranges, where many dairy farmers have established themselves; rain forests and dry tropical forests; the wet Caribbean coast and the dry north Pacific coast; and cloud forests. The highest-located hotel in Costa Rica, at 3000m of altitude experiences frost almost every night. This large variety of climates is responsible for an incredible array of plants and animals -9,000 species of flowering plants, 1,200 of orchids, 850 of birds, 205 of mammals, and 376 of reptiles and amphibians.鈥?

Others
to start with their is only two seasons. Rainy season and summer. March to August is very hot. September and October the rainiest. Good weather almost all year round
costa rica is in the tropics, so it only has two seasons: the rainy season and the dry season. the rainy season is from may to october and the dry season is from november to april. in the dry season it is very windy and cold (like winter) and in the rainy season it is hot (like summer)
live in CR for almost 10 years, so I kno this place!! :]
Costa Rica is very well explained above...

For the rest of South America...

As you move away from the Equator (line that runs from east to west that divides earth into two identical pieces) seasons are more accentuated.

The 2 pieces Earth gets divided into mirror their seasons... For example (and Im not sure of how precise this is) Mexico`s weather may be similar to Colombia`s. Argentina`s to the US (but seasons take place in opposite months. winter in one while summer in the other).

You have to include topographic particulars, altitude, etc.

Hope I didnt confuse you too much...
costa rica is located in the tropic, therefore it has only 2 seasons, the dry one, from december to march, and the rainy season from april to november, with the peak of the rainy season in about october. However, there are some areas, in the wetlands around the rainforest that it rains all year round, and some other areas that have a dry tropical forest, where it doesn麓t rain as much, and its a bit hotter than other areas. The range of temperature however is not very large, from 18 C to 31 C
