I "habla poco espanol" - willfamily and I be able to find english speaking people in the boonies-coast etc?

Travel Info
Although my daughter and I are listening and practicing with the tapes of spanish lessons and can ask for a glass of wine or where the bus station (or bathroom) is we can't do much else-we are going in 17 weeks-and intend to keep studying.
Will we have "mas probelma?" or probemlo?

Travel Tips
It is problema, with an a. I have been to Costa Rica several times, and I found that just about anywhere that a tourist would want to go, English is spoken. The percentage of educated individuals in Costa Rica is very high, and that combined with the influx of American investors has definitely increased the knowledge of English. Even if you encounter someone who doesn't speak English, they will probably recognize that you are speaking English, and they can find someone to help.

Keep studying your Spanish, and don't be afraid to try to use it. When you get stuck, just try to rephrase things. Eventually you will work it out.

No van a tener muchas problemas si pueden decir "Tengo hambre." Enjoy the empenadas and ceviche.

No tus tienes muchas problemas.

Most people in Europe speak both languages. You'll be ok.
Send me a message and, if you want, I can help a bit with Spanish.
Yo si creo que muchas personas hablan dos o mas idiomas. O si no quieres dejar todo a la suerte sigue practicando!... Yo digo que te va muy bien!
I hear more English spoken when I visit Costa Rica than when I visit Miami. I don't know how deep in the "boonies" you're going, but anywhere there are tourists, somebody will speak English. And, in lots of other places too.

Have a great trip ... and practice your Spanish when you can. The people are wonderful and very helpful.
