If you live in Costa Rica - what do you do for a living?

Travel Info
I am moving there and am curious about the kind of jobs I can find.

Travel Tips
There are pretty much the same exact jobs as in the US except things like Ski Mountain Lift operators.

My grandpa used to work in the Costa Rican portion of the Red Cross.

My aunt used to be in marketing and she would sell beauty products. My uncle also works in marketing at some big office building in San Jose. My cousins both want to be teachers.

If you are an American, there are a ton of job opportunities in tourism. They are always looking for people that can speak English well. Working in stores, restaurants, and at places of tourism-places where you can horseback ride, white water raft, and canopy, are all good options.

and also, people say that they don't pay well, well everything down there is very cheap Source(s): Been to Costa Rica more times than I can remember, my family lives in Costa Rica

Other Travel Tips
i pimp out 8 year old girls to sell seashell necklaces
Perhaps in the tourism/hospitality industry. Some cruise ships stop in Costa Rica, and many Americans like to visit the beaches there.
You Rica Costa!!!!
Hi, my husband is from Costa Rica and he worked at the airport and his daughter still lives there and she works in a factory. The think they best job is to work for yourself like I do in MaryKay where you make your own hours, etc., if you are anywhere near the Cariari Hotel, that is one fancy hotel that lots of celeb's like to stay at and a great place to work. If you like being outside, there's tons of rain forest and places for you there. Just look around the and the Lord will lead you. The will of God will never lead you where the grace of God can not keep you. Good luck. I know Alajuela and Heredia better than any of the other places.
Like in every other country, it depends on your skills.
Costa Rica is a very modern and fast growing country.
People there are well educated so you will have no problem.
Of course tourism is very strong there, so there are a lot of hotels, and tourist related jobs.
There are also global companies that have offices in Costa Rica, like Western Union, Procter &Gamble, etc.
Good Luck
