Where is a nice place to stay in Costa Rica? |
Travel Info We are looking for a place that is NOT All Inclusive, away from alot of tourists and somewhat near the ocean. Cheap too. What airline is the best to fly to Costa Rica (from Ohio)? Travel Tips Playa Tamarindo is very nice during the off season; and since it's in what's called a dry rain forest, it's nice even during the rainy season and there are no tourists in town. My wife and I got married on the beach there two years ago. Others if your going to barbados try staying at the ALLAMANDA BEACH RESORT. its a bueatiful place with pools that surrounds the hotel and the beach. There is no best, but Taca is usually nice and cheap, if you can connect. American also has a lot of good connections. If you want to get away from a LOT of tourists, you could go to the Caribbean coast, and Playa Negra, anywhere south of Puerto Viejo de Limon (tourist hub), there are lovely, remote beaches with low-key accomodations The Northwest coast is also gorgeous. Many times, when you get away from the tourists in Costa Rica, you also get away from any amenities, so be prepared for that. If you're into eco-tourism and the rainforest, go to the Osa Peninsula, though that's not necessarily cheap. Remote and very beautiful. Be aware that the rainy season is from May/June to about October and you will get very wet. working in Costa Rica Costa Rica is not cheap. If its cheap you want go to Punta Cana, in the DR. Try the following airlines: southwest, continental, united, american airlines and taca. sometimes I go to expedia and then I go to every single airline to try to see the best far. Also try flexible dates, this helpr too. For Hotels try: http://www.saintgermaintours.com/en/hote... or http://www.saintgermaintours.com/en/hote... This travel agency always helps alot of people, it has done very good for me and my husband Have a good time there! Along the pacific coast is a village called Ojochal. It is a community melting pot of folks from all over the world who have made it there home. There are several great beaches nearby and great places to eat as well. There are never a lot of "tourist" but you can find others that speak English and recommend things to do and places to see. There are waterfalls you can take horse rides to, national parks not far away, zip lines in the forest that are great fun, caves to explore, fish for your own dinner, see ponds full of crocs, and take in local soccer games and kariokee with the local Ticos. A quaint hotel that is affordable is El Perezoso Hotel, that you can find on the net. When staying in San Jose, check out Brilla Sol (also found on the net)...a GREAT place near the airport, run by a wonderful family. They'll pick you up right at the airport. You'll get a lovely typical breaksfast in the morning and help you arrange further travels. I would fly Sansa (you can book it online) to Quepos and stay there a night or two, visiting Manuel Antontio national park..it is awesome. There you can rent a car and just drive down the coast to Ojochal. It would be a great trip! have fun! |
