Going to Costa Rica...? |
Travel Info I read somewhere that if you were planning to go to Costa Rica that one of the requirements to get in the country was that you also needed a return flight ticket as well. Is this true? I am coming from the U.S. but I am looking to stay for a few months and I'm not sure exactly how long so I don't want to have to get a return flight ticket yet. Travel Tips Unless you fit some profile or you have some legal problems, you won't have trouble entering the country by air. I have entered Costa Rica via the San Jose airport over 20 times in the last 10 years and have never been asked for a return ticket. In the age of electronic tickets many/most tourists entering by air don't have hard copies of their ticket. However, these days a round trip ticket for 45 days or less usually costs the same or less than a one-way ticket. Things are very different if you enter by land--you will either need a bus or air ticket on hand before they let you in. I have had problems at the border.
