Do I need shots before visiting Costa Rica?

Travel Info
Going in less than 3 weeks.

Travel Tips
Although the CDC has certain recommendations, I can tell you with all certainty that you don't need any special vaccinations before visiting Costa Rica, except the ones you already need in the U.S. (if that's where you're from). So make sure all you're current with all your vaccinations and enjoy your trip. The only health concern in Costa Rica is dengue fever, but there is no vaccination for it. Just use insect repellent at dawn and dusk. Have a great trip! Source(s): Costa Rican living in the U.S.

Other Travel Tips
You're cutting it a little close here. Most vaccines take 4 weeks to work. So you should have done this a while ago, but you should still see your doctor.

The CDC recommends vaccinations for:
Hepatitus A and B
Malaria (not actually a vaccination here)
Tyhpoid
Tetanus booster

Rabies is an optional vaccine if you're going to be doing extensive outdoors, non-vehicular travel.
