What is the best restaurant in San Jose, Costa Rica to eat, that serves local flavored cuisine?

Travel Info
I'll be in San Jose next week and would love to know what the best place to get a decent meal that doesn't cost a bunch, and is considered a local tico joint.

Travel Tips
Anything inside the central mercado will be good and inexpensive. you do need to make sure, however that you guard your posessions because it is crowded and you will probably look like a tourist. ram luna is a beautiful place up in the mountains with a gorgeous view of the city, especially at night, but it can be a bit pricier. Source(s): personal experience.

Other Travel Tips
Nuestra Tierra on Avenida 2. Although it looks touristy and you will see tourists there, there is always a big crowd of Ticos there. To go cheaper, just ask the personnel in your hotel to recommend a good "Soda" (these are cheap local restaurants). You don't have to worry about water or food.
Go to the west end of the pedestrian mall in the center of San Jose (here's a hint for directions: churches face west). Where the mall walkway ends and traffic begins, you'll see the mercado comercial on the corner on the right. This is the city's main marketplace. Go inside (guard your possessions!) and look for the small eateries scattered about. Pick one where there are many customers eating. That one will be offering great food! Order a "casado."
La Choza de Do帽a Lela is very good - and not expensive at all.

Go to Ram Luna, the food is great and the view is even better.

Also go to Fogo Brazil, great meats and great service.
