I'm going to Costa Rica, pacific side, last minute. any info? |
Travel Info i'm going alone. i've hiked the grand canyon and am looking for the adventure side. rain forrest zip lines? also beaches, food, maybe places to stay. good maps. thanks- Travel Tips I lived in C.R. for two years. In my opinion, the NW coast is the nicest part of the country. Depending on how much time you have, you can visit several places in a relatively short amount of time. Arenal and the Tabacon Hot Springs are a must see. You can also go wind surfing on lake Arenal on the cheap as well. From there you can head up to Monteverde for some cloud forest action and then over to Tamarindo to a really cool beach scene. This would make the trip back to San Jose a little longer, but it's worth it. Otherwise, fly in and out of Liberia. You can take a bus everywhere and it won't take you nearly as long. Others http://www.travelinparadisecr.com... they can help u on ur stuff but just emailed them for specific info.... go south to antinio manuel state park, jaco beach is black sand but if you surf its ok , eat a covina its a sea bass fish It's been a few years since we've been there but Como Si, Como No is a neat place to stay near Manuel Antoinio. If you want adventure check out Corcovado http://jackmaryetc.com/travel/americas/c... ... You need to take a small plane there and walk down the beach to get your "rustic" cabin or tent ... Loads of wildlife and generally a fun place ... Right on the beach, but the waves are a bit strong. Go to Manuel Antonio for sure! It is beautiful with lots of day trips and excessive amounts of wildlife. Also, Nosara is a great place to visit and away from tourist areas like Tamarindo. Don't plan on spending time in Puntarenas or Jaco. The only thing good about Jaco is some fine hotels (Marriott Los Suenos) and proximity to Manuel Antonio. Don't bother at all with Tamarindo if you are adventurous. There is an awesome large cat rescue in Canas and some cool river trips. Arenal is fabulous!
