Can anyone tell me roughly how much a 14 day trip to Costa Rica in March may cost (excluding airfare)? |
Travel Info I am planning a 14 day trip to Costa Rica with myself and my girlfriend in Mid March 2007. I already have a great deal on the airfare, but I am wondering what I should expect as far as a TOTAL price for the actual time in Costa Rica. This would include food, lodging, transportation, attractions, etc. I am planning a trip that would take us all over the country...a night here, a night there...I know this is an IMPOSSIBLE question to answer, but I am just looking to hear from people who have done this on a moderate budget. Thanks All! Travel Tips $400 hotels (nice hotels) $300 food $600 organized tours total $1300 If your girl friend is not high maintenance and wants to stay in hostels and take the buses and eat in cheaper restaurants you can do it for about $800 http://costa-rica-guide.com/travel/index... http://www.hostelworld.com/findabed.php... Here are a couple of websites that may help you. Also go to the library or book store and pick up a book called "costa rica handbook" Source(s): I have spent 6 months in Costa Rica. There is a seperate bus station for buses going to the Caribean. Personally I would not go to the caribean side with only 2 weeks. Other Travel Tips We went to Costa Rica last August, and my boyfriend and I had $3k in cash between us. We came home with $400. But we also got private transport, jumped off waterfalls, rented 4-wheelers, and generally stayed in $50-$60/night hotels. We went to three areas: Mal Pais, Arenal, and Monteverde. check out travel.com I like "moderate budget" that is what travel is all about getting to know the place, people, food . . . . not locking yourself in a hotel all day long. Anyhow. . . . food id inexpensive, you can find some pretty cheap hotels. Just to be on the safe side per person 1000.USD it seems like like a lot I know but and it may be just depends on where you eat and stay and what you spend your money on but never carry more the full amount, take money aout from tellers at banks when you start running low. Don't worry to much just go have FUN www.lonelyplanet.com has awsome information |
