Is it safe for two women to go to costa rica? |
Travel Info What areas are safe and which areas would you stay away from? Travel Tips Yes, I spent time there in college. The fact that you will be with someone else helps a lot. Costa Rica is a pretty safe place but a bit more modest in dress, so I would recommend, dressing more conservatively then you would in the US. There are also issues with petty theft, so keep your valuables close. During the day, things should be fine. When I was there, I used the bus system alone, and felt very safe. I would just be a little more cautious after dark, and stay in well-lit and well travelled areas. Have fun! Others I'm bored, I'll go with you! IS IT SAFE TO WALK DOWN THE STREET? its only as safe as human life allows. you take your chances and hope all will work out. enjoy each day of life as if it were last day alive. have fun and don't worry. I鈥檓 not being mean BUT 鈥渉ave fun don鈥檛 worry.鈥?!?!? YIKES! Take this attitude while you travel abroad (or even here) and you might end up on posters. Personally I wouldn鈥檛 travel outside the US with just one other person. There are plenty of tour groups going wherever you what to visit. There is a certain amount of safety in numbers - plus the tour usually knows where it is safe to travel. Its safe. Try to avoid walking on the urban areas at night. In touristic places its not dangerous at all. Yes, probably far safer than St. Louis or Detroit. However that said, you should be careful at night--especially in San Jose. Use simple precautions like having the hotel, restaurant or bar that you are at call you a cab and you will be fine. Pick-pocketing and purse snatching can be a problem in the area around the Central Market and Avenida Central but if you are alert you will have no problems. in general costa rica is a very safe place, but i would recommend you to stay away from the 2nd avenue, specially at night, basically just stay in the central avenue, and if you can visit the places far away form the downtown, it is a very beatiful country |
