Has anyone volunteered in Costa Rica, which is the best organisation to use?

Travel Info
I'm considering using an international volunteer vacation organization like cross cultural solutions but they charge too much for their programs. Does anyone know a cheaper option to volunteer?

Travel Tips
An acquaintance of mine recently came back from Costa Rica, after volunteering for a group called ANAI that they found through idealist.org.

They volunteered for this project:

and really found it rewarding.

I also used idealist.org to find an organization. I finally ended up going with an local organization called uVolunteer (www.uvolunteer.org) with affordable rates for the service they offer. They don't just ship you off to project in the middle of now where, they actually live in and around the locations you will volunteer so a member of their great staff around.
