Travel Tips Since you are going to be visiting the most expensive area in all of Costa Rica - an area designed for major tourist fleecing - you cannot expect not to pay through the nose for a taxi to get you there. As soon as the word "Papagayo" comes out of your mouth, every Costa Rican whether in the tourist service industry or not will begin to salivate with the realization that here in a tourist who is an easy mark, one who is paying top dollar - and consequently should give me top dollar, too! So, my guess is that a taxi from the airport to Papagayo will cost upwards of $50 at least. Others Email the hotel, they should be able to either pick you up or contract with a taxi to pick you up--and they would know the rate. Many years in Costa Rica. |
