What are good ways to get to Costa Rica from west US without flying? |
Travel Info Please be specific if possible. Travel Tips By Bus, You say you are from the western part of the USA. The fastest way and easiest by bus is go to a large city on the border. like Nogales, Sonora, Ciudad Juarez, Mexicali. There you will find buses going to Mexico city. About every hour from there main bus station. When you get to Mexico city you will probably enter the bus station in ther north. There are 4 main bus stations in Mexico City. You will have to go to the eastern or southern bus station by taxi or colectivo. There you will find buses going to Tapachula Mexico via Oaxaca. When you get to Tapachula on the border of Guatemala.there is a bus line called Tica bus. Others It is possible to trave by bus from the West Coast to Mexico City and then form Mexico City to Tapachula (Oaxaca?). From Tapachula there is a direct bus to San Jose CR. It takes about 34 hours to go from Tapachula to San Jose. I would guess that the bus fare from the Mexican border in California to San Jose would run you $180-$200. one way. ticabus.com I suppose you might try hiring a private boat to take you there, if you don't want to drive or take a bus. Personally I'd go to Mexico and then do what the other people said, take a bus through Central America. It'd be an incredible experience! |
