Like many movies that are set in the tropics, it was filmed in Hawaii (Kauai, to be exact). Source(s): Visited Kauai last year and went on a tour where we saw the sites where Jurassic Park was filmed Other Travel Tips The writer is correct, It was shot in Hawaii. They were originally going to film in Isla de Coco National Park but they had problems getting the proper permits. However, there are some scenes in the first Jurassic Park that where shot in Costa Rica. I have been told that the distant shots of the island are Isla de Coco and there is one scene where you see the hospital in Puntarenas. although during the movie the setting of jurassic part is costa rica, it was actually filmed in hawaii!!! |
