I am interested in moving to Costa Rica do you have any information?

Travel Info
I am a 54 year old Physician who is interested in moving to Costa Rica to get out of the Rat Race of NY. I would like some info on where to start.

Travel Tips
There are a lot of websites that give information about moving to Costa Rica, how, why, where, etc. It should be a simple matter to research these resources. Part of what it takes to be an expat is the independence to be able to figure these things out.

Here are the very best of the resources:

Other Travel Tips
In all honesty, contact the embassy and ask them. They would probably have the best information for you. I don't imagine it's hard though due to the large numbers of Americans who live there. Land is cheap and cost of living is cheap.
Depends on what you like since Costa Rica has varied points of interest.

I would suggest that you examine the Pacific side around Quepos - which is 55 miles south of San Jose or 29 minutes away by Sansa Air.

Quepos in a quaint little tourist village of about 4,000 souls that is on the coast and in the middle of Palm Oil, Rice, and some Cattle Farms which gives it great diversification.

They have some of the Biggest fish touraments held there every Oct thru March when the fishing is at its very best.

And Manuel Antonio Nature Preserve and beach is only about 4 miles away to the South!

Check out Hotel Kamuck in Quepos on the net. -

And think about having a little villa on a small hill overlooking the Blue Pacific and getting up every morning drinking a good cup of Costa Rican Coffee while you enjoy the view!

It works for me!

Good Luck!
a realist and a tico at heart!
Check this website written by Americans living abroad; there's a lot of information on Costa Rica and you can ask more questions there.

Hope this helps.
