Travel Tips The most famous dish of Costa Rica has to be 鈥淕allo Pinto鈥?(literally translated as 鈥渟potted rooster鈥?, a dish brought into the country by Nicaraguan immigrants. The dish consists of rice, coriander, onion and black or red beans and is often served for breakfast or lunch. 鈥淐asado鈥?is a similar dish consisting of rice and beans, served with pork, steak or chicken and usually accompanied by a small portion of salad and fried plantains. This dish is customarily served as a dinner and is widely available throughout Costa Rica and can provide tourists with a hearty, low-cost meal. =) Others costa rican food i think mexican HEARTS OF PALM AND RICE AND BLACK BEANS, THEY EAT QUITE A BIT OF FIBER WHICH IS GOOD. They have the same kind of Dairy products like Milk and Cheeses that we do and their Beer - "IMPERIAL & IMPERIAL LIGHT" - is the Best Beer that I have ever tasted!. Their most common dish is "Black beans and Rice" and they usually eat this for Breakfast along with their Coffee, Orange Juice and mixed fruit - which normally lasts a person until dinner time. With everything Oh, I learned to cook some amazing dishes while I was in Costa Rica! The main items of Costa Rican food are usually rice, beans and chickpeas. They also take vegetables, which are from places like Camote, Chayote and Guineo. They are usually combined with a traditional sauce called Lizano and garnished with exotic spices. El Casado is popular with the natives of this nation. This food, which means 鈥渕arried鈥?got its name from the early era when women would pack lunch for their men as they went out for work. Casado consists of the staple rice and beans, with cabbage and tomato, fried plantain, and some kind of meat, often also with egg. The meals that Costa Ricans are accustomed to nowadays are baked plantain, which is served with white cheese or sugar as a dessert. The best place to buy fresh food is the Saturday morning street market.
