Best place to visit/stay in Costa Rica? |
Travel Info Hi, My family (ranging in ages from 3-67) is considering a week long group vacation to Costa Rica. We're looking for a location that has historic places to visit, beaches, and adventure tourism like jungle zip-lines or sport fishing. Any recomendations are greatly appreciated, as well as information on the best time of year to visit. Travel Tips Quepos would suit your family perfectly! It is on the west coast of CR and 55 miles south of San Jose. And, it has all of the tourist amenities that anyone could want in the immediate area. You can fly to Quepos from San Jose in 29 minutes on Sansa Air for only $98.00 both ways! Hotel Kamuck is the best hotel there and the most reasonable! They have fishing tournaments there annually and catch some of the biggest fish in the world right off Quepos in the blue waters of the Pacific! Tournaments held from October through March, and hotel Kamuck will cook your catch! Only five minutes from the famous Manuel Antonio Nature Park/Beach I will be there myself in June! - For the Time of my life! Good Luck! Source(s): a realist and a Tico at heart! Other Travel Tips That's a fairly broad and subjective question. I'd suggest you start things by both researching and emailing the official tourism bureau via the link below: Costa Rica:http://www.tourismrankings.com/costa-ric... and also taking a look at these hotels and resorts on the island for pricing, location , star rating. It might be handy to use one of these as a base. Costa Rica Accom :http://www.cheaperthanhotels.com/costa-r... Just got back from CR a month ago. Awesome. I went on zip lines, canyoning, a floating safari, a hike around a volcano, and a hike through the rain forest. I would highly recommend Desafio company in Costa Rica: rivers@racsa.co.cr They did a great job. The San Bosco hotel in La Fortuna is a great place to stay. I can tell you one thing, don't stay in San Jose, It's not like we imagine, it's dangerous and you have nothing to do Your best bet is to start with a good guide book Lonely Planet or Moon are good. Once you have a better idea where you want to visit, ask SPECIFIC questions on this forum! http://costa.rica.typepad.com/costa_rica... |
