Why does costa rica need a home depot?

i'm doing a geography project for school, and i was wondering how to "sell" my country as the best elligable candidate for a home depot?!

Perhaps you can talk to your classmates about the TLC (Free Trade Agreement) going on in Costa Rica.

It's mostly a political issue where the Government is trying to negotiate a trade agreement with the US. It would help the Costa Rican economy a whole lot if it's citizens would not be so much against the idea.

You could say that if they opened a Home Depot in Costa Rican people would be more likely to accept the TLC offered by the US.

Homebuilders in Costa Rica need US products for building homes...and can get them at a Home Depot.
First of all, because we need a good building store where the prices are already tagged right in front of the products for sale because people get ripped off at most hardware stores and because this is a rapidly growing country in population and there is a whole lot of construction going on here of big hotels and condo buildings all by the beaches.
If Home Depot was smart, they'd take advantage of it.
There is a whole lot of people with money here that will buy from them.
Walmart already bought Hiper Mas here in CR which is a similar super store in size as Walmart that was first owned by Mexicans and Walmart just bought it a little less than a year ago and already has plans to open some Walmart stores here and they are selling a whole lot, CR is a great place to invest.

A hardware super store with a greater variety of products would definitely be a huge success. Its nice to be able to walk around and compare items. Something similar to EPA but better... where you can see the prices of the products and get discounted items on sale. So long as the prices can compete with the smaller hardware stores, and they offer good customer service...this is a PLUS... it will no doubt be a success at the rate CR is developing land!
