First learn how to spell "real estate license"
It is a pretty simple process to be a recognized reputable seller of real estate. There are a lot of people in Costa Rica who are not licensed and still sell real estate. This is the process I would recommend that you follow.

First, you need to take classes in San Jose at the CBR - Camara Costarricense de Corredores de Bienes Raices - also know as the Chamber of Real Estate. The classes are given generally twice a month and cost $175.00 per person. The classes are in Spanish and are 5 days long - 8 hours a day.

The classes, though long and in spots boring, are beneficial, since real estate processes in Costa Rica are greatly different than in the states, particularly in the selling of properties and being able to identify the true owners.

If you are not a Costa Rican citizen you cannot join the Chamber - but you can still sell real estate. If you are a Costa Rican citizen, then you are able to join the Chamber and make affiliation through NAR - National Association of Realtors in the states.
