Shopping in costa rica?

im leaving for costa rica in about two weeks...ill be staying there for a month. Can anyone tell me what prices on clothing like in costa rica? i would also like to know if there are any punk clothing shops near monteverde and if not in san jose. I am a black girl and i wanted to find out if i would have problems in costa rica particularly in monteverde pertaining to my race...all answers are greatly appreciated :)

Punk is not the most popular but I'm sure you can find things in San Jose, probably in the Malls. Mall prices are Mall prices.
As far as your race goes FORGET ABOUT IT ! ! ! This is a very unprejudiced country, considering a lot of the people are black. It is not an insult to be called "negra", it is just a statement. My best friend's little girl is called "Negrita" little black one ,and noone bats an eye at that. When I was first here, and I heard someone say "Hey Negra" I thought all hell was going to break loose >>> but no. The woman turned smiled and gave the guy a kiss on the cheek. That's when I knew Costa Rica was really special.
