Stories from trips to cancun or cozumel? |
Travel Info I'm going to make a webpage dealing with the Cancun and Cozumel night life, best hotels, bars, etc. Does anybody have any stories they'd like to share? I'm looking for anything that would be of interest to somebody who may be traveling to these parts in the future. http://www.daylon.com/cancun/ the site was once home to my cancun pics (from senior frogs) and still gets around 1,000 unique hits per day. Travel Tips When traveling in Cozumel, you have to be careful on what side of the island you're on. My family and I are extremely adventurous, on a trip to Cozumel we quickly rented a vehicle, grabbed a map and headed out to explore the island. The side we chose had only dirtroads, deep in the jungle. We kept going and half way we found the cutest little hamburger / cantina type of establishment. It had hammocks hanging from palm trees overlooking the beautiful carribbean, we came upon it near 4 pm. The owner was getting ready to close. WHen we asked why so early he informed us that there was no electricity on that side of the island. (At this point we should have turned around and gone back the same way). We grabbed our snack and continued on our journey. As we went on, it started getting darker and rain began to fall. We had rented a small convertible Side Tracker (???) and had neglected to ask for the covering or extra tires in case of a flat. On the map the distance looked shorter than it actually was, it took us almost 1/2 day to circle that half of the island. When we completed the half circle we had almost ran out of gas in the middle of the night, in the middle of the jungle. It was fun and we would gladly do it all over again. Others I love Cancun!!!!!! The best hotel for young people to stay at is the Oasis Cancun. Some of the best clubs are: BASIC, DADDY-O'S, THE CITY, COCO BONGOS, FAT TUESDAYS, SENOR FROG....and the list goes on and on. Everyone shuold go party in Cancun before they get old! WOOOOOOOOO I love cancun!! |
