Visa Requirements for Mexico? |
Travel Info I am an Indian Citizen working on H1B visa in US. I have multiple entry stamping. I am going to Mexico on a cruise in August. I will be in Mexico for only 8 hrs. Do I need a Mexican visa? I tried to look everywhere but can't seem to find the proper answer. Travel Tips My wife and I have been to Cozumel several times to dive. My wife is H1B and I am H4. For entry to Mexico, we only needed our passports (must be valid for at least six more months) and proof that we had a return airfare ticket. Be advised, for re-entry into the US, you will need your passport, your H1B approval letter from USCIS, and your I-94. It also looks like you would be able to obtain and fill out the visa forms right on board ship prior to deboarding. In my reading of Mexican vias, if you do need a visa for entry, it would be a Traveler in Transit: If you are in transit to another country, but will stay in Mexico for a short while, perhaps even just overnight, you can be issued with a traveler in transit permit, which allows a stay of up to 30 days and is NOT renewable. Available at all ports of entry to Mexico. (source: http://www.mexperience.com/liveandwork/i... Good luck and have fun...it is a beautiful place...hope you do some diving. Source(s): http://www.mexperience.com/liveandwork/i... Other Travel Tips you'll get a tourist visa when you enter the country, they will give you the form on the boat, or plane. be nice and have fun. I believe you need a VISA since you are an Indian citizen. Please check this web page, which is the official immigration site for Mexico. Hope it helps http://www.inami.gob.mx/pagina_ingles/pr... Instituto Nacional de Migracion - Mexico's migration department Better contact the Mexican consulate nearest to you, because I'm almost sure you need a visa, since you are an Indian citizen, regardless of your US visa. Citizens of some countries are given a visa when entering the country, but other need a embassy issued visa, so make sure before travelliing, because they may not allow you to board the boat if you need an embassy visa. Hi Puneet, My parents are going for a similar cruise from Fort lauderdale to Cozumel, Mexico and back.....4 night western caribean cruise on the royal caribean. They are citizens of India with a 10 year multiple entry visa for the US. I have been struggling to get an answer to the visa questions as to whether they will need any other visas. Since you will have first hand information after your trip there could you please post a response on what documents my parents would need. Thanks |
