Do we need Mexican visa to go on a cruise to Mexico from US for people with Indian passport? |
Travel Info My parents have an Indian passport. They are visiting me in US. I am planning to take them on a cruise to Cozumel (Mexico) from Fort Lauderdale. We will be in Cozumel for less than a day probably 8-10 hours only. Do I need to get a Mexican visa for them . Travel Tips There used to be a permit you could get if your stay was going to be for a day, but this has changed recently. Now you need to get a visa. Apply for a visitor's visa at your nearest Mexican Consulate. Source(s): http://www.mexonline.com/consulate.htm... Other Travel Tips Check with the cruise travel agency people. First off why the HELL would you goto Mexico for a Cruise! There are plenty more wonderful places to go in the US (Alamo,Fort Knox). As for your question I dont think you would need a visa just to visit. no. you need a visa or passport from your home country. When you cross into a country, they stamp it accordingly. Although, on a cruise ship, I thing thinks are a little different. I believe if you wish to go ashore and are more than 50 miles south of the US border you need a visa. I think the 50 mile rule is from only needing US identification within that proximity. A visa is easy to obtain. Just visit the embassy for Mexico in your city. They will stamp your passports. You will need a visa, but the cruise line will take care of that for you. You will only need a temp to get off the ship for the day. |
