How far is Cozumel from Cancun?

I won a vacation package that allows me to stay in Cozumel for free. However, I would like to drive to Cancun during my stay because there will be a big party going on in Cancun during that time. I need to know if this is feasible and if so how long does it take to get there by car. Also what are the transportation options? Could I take a bus or taxi or would I have to rent a car?

Cozumel is an island and You will need to take the Ferry to Playa Del Carmen ( $11.00),then a Taxi ( $ 45.00) or bus or a rented car to Cancun.That drive is about 45 minutes.
You can rent a car on the Island and take the carferry but it takes waaay longer ,1 1/2 hour instead of 30 minutes ,to get accross ,plus you have to wait in line early to make sure you get a spot on the ferry.
I love the ferry ride on the passenger ferry!There are 2 different companies that run on the hour .I prefer ULTRA MAR (blue and yellow) to Mexicana ( Orange and blue)ferries.

You can take a ferry from Cozumel to Playa del Carmen (I think it was like a half hour ride or so) and then a taxi or something to Cancun, a 45 minute drive.
the best thing would be to take taxi or bus.it's a ferry ride from the island of cozumel and probably takes 45 minutes to get to canacun.have a great time!!!i've been there 3 times,it's georgeous!!!
you can take a boat a car across from Cozumel to Cancun we had to tender into Cozumel because no cruise ship could park there
