Can I take the ferry from Cozumel to Playa del Carmen even if I don't have a ticket for a tour from my cruise? |
Travel Info I'm taking a cruise to Cozumel on Royal Caribbean and I want to go shopping in Playa del Carmen instead of going on one of the tours. I know that for the tours you can take the ferry, but I don't know if I have to be booked on one of the tours to take the ferry. Travel Tips Once you get to Cozumel, there are plenty of folks selling ferry ride tickets to go to Playa Del Carmen, cancun, Rivera MAya and where ever else you'd like to go. Doesn't have to be in advance and you can also talk them down. There's always a boat leaving cozumel to take you where you want to go. We had a ball there. There is a great area to shop in Cancun too!!! Others Have fun on your trip and don't forget to take plenty of pictures!! Thanks for choosing me for "best answer" No problem, the ferry takes pedestrian traffic as well as vehicles and you can purchase tickets if seats are available (usually are). If I recall it cost about 8 USD one way. done the ferry from Coz and return No, you can just walk up to the counter at the ferry terminal down at the Square (near the large Mexico flag) and buy it yourself.It costs $ 11.00 US one way and they usually go every hour on the hour. This is for the pedestrian ferry , not the car ferry as scuba bob mentioned. |
