Travel Info
Do we need a passport to travel to Cozumel, Mexico from the United States?

Travel Tips
It depends on how you plan to get there.

If by air: As of January 23, 2007 you are required to have a passport for travel.

If by land or sea: By January 1, 2008 you will be required to have a passport.

I would suggest getting one no matter which you go... It's a great form of identification and it proves your citizenship should it ever come into question. Source(s): http://travel.state.gov/travel/cbpmc/cbp...
