Which side of Cozumel does Carnival Cruise port? |
Travel Info I'm trying to plan my day and need to know the geographical location of the port on the island of Cozumel. My interest is the ruins and I'm trying to budget my time. I just don't know where the ship ports. Travel Tips Carnival ports on the west side of the island; they have two ports. On the east side (and the south), the waters are TOO rough. Only beaches there are for the surfers, waves too high. Right now the Northeast of the island is shut off, the roads are closed down due to Hurrican Rita from last year, government still hasn't been able to build it up again. There are some ruins on the southside of the island and the others are right in the center of the island. If you rent a car, you can get there yourself. Are they worth it and do I personally recommend them? Hell NO! They're quite a joke actually; it's more like destroyed homes made out of stone. When I hear ruin, I picture at least 2-3 stories high, not these things. If you want to see ruins, then take a boat ride across the strait onto mainland Mexico and head out to Tulum. Hope this helps... Others they dock on the Ocean side...its a cruise ship They should have a reservation / information toll free number on your itinerary, that would be your best reference. Places/areas may change over time, and information may not be always available. You may also like to try their website : http://www.carnival.com/cms/ships/funshi... The ship ports on the down town side of the island. There really is nothing on the other side. If you want to see ruins on the island of Cozumel it's not a long ride. The island is very small. You can save more time if you rent a car or scooter and do everything on your own vs. paying the money have people drive you around on tours, but the tour offer more info. I've been going to Cozumel once a year for a while now. I hope I've helped you in some way. Hi, On the island of Cozumel you will dock right in the town San Miguel, on the North-Westside of the Island. This is the only town or city on the island. There are a number of ruins on the island. You can rent a moped or grab a cab to take you to the ruins. It you are thinking of the Mayan Ruins at Tulum or the Big Ruins at Chichen Itza, they are on the Yucatan and you'll have to take a tour. Here is a map. It ports on the side facing the mainland, in the Cozumel downtown area. Enjoy your trip. http://www.cancunfirstclass.com/cozumel-... |
