You now need a passport to exit the U.S. Cozumel is in Mexico. Not if it is before Jan. 2008. After Jan. 2008 you will need one. If you were flying--yes now BUT CRUISING you don't have to have one until 2008!!! All US Citizens need passports if they're travelling by air or sea - if you were to drive over to Mexico or Canada, at least for a few more months that's the only exception. state.gov Well, you got 3 different answers...so here is the scoop. The regulations state you only need a passport if you are flying. However, many cruise lines are requiring passengers to have a passport. So...you can read the government regulations at the website listed below. ..then also call you travel agent or cruise line and ask what they are requiring. travel.state.gov |
