Dinning room dress code for valor?

Travel Info
I will be going on carnival valor next sunday. I am not sure about the dress code in the dinning room (this is my first criuse), would it be ok if I wore jeans? If I am planning to dine in scarlett's what should is the dress code for there?

Travel Tips
Depending on the length of the cruise, either formal dress or casual resort wear is required in the Dining Room. The dress requirement for children is the same. For those not wanting to dress up, the Lido restaurants are open nightly (with the exception of the last evening of the cruise), and have a casual dress code. Formal Wear: tuxedo (optional); suit and tie; sport coat, tie and slacks; evening gown; cocktail dress; pantsuit Casual Resort Wear: sport shirts and slacks; dresses; skirts; pantsuit NOTE: Shorts, t-shirts and bathing attire are not permitted in the Dining Room during dinner.

We are going on a seven day Western Caribbean on the Carnival Glory in Sept. There will be two formal nights, but we will only "dress" for one of them. On formal night, they will still admit you to the dining room as long as you meet the basic dress requirements. I have even seen people in the dining room in blue jeans and a flannel shirt on formal night. Source(s): sa
Other Travel Tips
Jeans are ususally not a good idea for a Caribbean cruise. They are hot and sweaty and take up too much room in your suitcase. They are not permitted in the dining room for dinner. A nice pair of black pants and a nice top will work or a casual sundress is a nice choice. Or a skirt and top will work too. For formal nights think wedding attire. Hope this helps. You will have a great time.
I just got back from the Valor, the dress code is smart Casual, besides the formal nights. For the scarletts dinning mainly dresses will work. Good luck on trip we had so much fun. Are you going to St Thomas? If so the Jeep tour is nice.
Formal nights are just that...drag out the cocktail dress and play dress up. Other nights are pretty casual. I know one night i wore jeans on the Legend and wasn't kicked out but for the most part I wore dresses. Look at it this way, its a good excuse to put on real clothes
