Cruise question? |
Travel Info im going on a cruise what should i bring and do you know about csaual night and the fancy attire or wutever just tell me everything you know? Travel Tips Bring extra of everything. We packed double tops and bottoms and undies and still found ourselves rationing clothes to make it through the trip. They do not offer laundry service only dry cleaning and pressing for formal attire. It depends on the ship but all should have one formal night. My ship had two, one for each of the dining sessions in the main dining hall so the captain could have dinner with both seating times. Men wore suits or rented a tux from the on board tux shop. Women wore gounds or expensive dresses for the most part. Pant suits were a no no. Other nights there was not really any set rules. No jeans or swim wear, but nice T shirts were allowed. We usually wore a nice T type top or light knit type top or button down. One night we were late getting back from our excursion and had to eat in T shirts we bought on the island. We would have skipped the sit down dinner than night and had something in the other food outlets, but it was lobster night so too bad! They didn't have any complaints though. If your going to go to any beach on any island stops you must have sea shoes. They are dirt cheap, about $12 and are a must to protect your feet from coral and rocks on most beaches and paths. Others i packed 2 bathing suits, so i would always have a dry one, and then i had a couple of those tank one piece sundresses. they are perfect for throwing on over your bathing suit. Flip flops, of course. There is one night that you have a formal dress for dinner so bring a pair of dress shoes too. Oh, and don't forget undies and you should be good to go. Have fun! It depends on the cruise line. Check the specific website for the one you're using. I've been on cruises where it's almost ALL casual. lucky, i love goin on cruises. anyways, bring a bathing suit. if ur goin to a beach location, bring two just in case. bring lots of clothes to change in (of course). and formal nite, bring a dress. it doesnt hav to be very formal. just simple, but not sundress simple, if u know what i mean. cruises stress a lot about what to wear and what not to, but don't worry, ur regular clothes will do fine evryday except for formal night. then bring any other things u may need such as towels, cameras..etc. but soap and toothpaste, etc is provided. I always just bring casual clothes, except for one night of formal attire. I usually have a dark suit, white shirt, and tie. The rest of the nights, I just go in slacks and a button down shirt. For daytime wear, I have jeans of khakis and a casual shirt. We do not use the pool on the ship, so we do not wear swimsuits. sa if you are going on a port intensive cruise then I recommend flip flops and sundresses, shorts and tank tops if your going to beach bum it... if you are in tour hiking or trail like excursions then I recommend some comfy sneaker and lot of bug spray... I usually pack anywhere from 3 - 5 bathing suits but that's just me. if you have more sea days than port days I would pack shorts and tee for daytime and capris and casual skirts with cute tops for nights formal is one of the things I look forward to I like to dress up But a simple black dress will do. I also pack a little just in case bag its usually a large zip lock bag with dramamine (motion sickness meds) advil, pepto, neosporyn and band aids these things are very expensive on the ship and the ports... I have always booked an inside cabin and they can be very dark so I pack a nite lite you can also check out cruisecritics.com there you find all the answers to almost all your questions... Happy sailing!!! |
