Tips on creative ways to sneak alcohol on board a cruise ship? |
Travel Info How hard do they check for alcohol in your luggage. I am going on Royal Caribbean. I am sure they are all the same though. Thanks for your help. Travel Tips be aware if you get caught they will NOT let you board the ship and will escort you back to the dock, it is in their policy. it's not worth it Source(s): o:)NA Other Travel Tips depends on the cruise ship i took in bottles of wine in the bags and they did not noticem, but I heard other cruise ships frisk you the best bet if you HAVE to take on liquor is to use liquor that is clear (vodka) and put in water bottles, then you will have no problem at all I just returned from a Cruise in the Mediterranean on Disney's Cruise ship Magic. We were allowed to bring on our own bottles of wine and I noticed others were as well. All bags are x-rayed when you reboard the disney cruise ship. Disney only charged a corkage fee at dinner if you brought your own wine to dinner, but we had great time tasting new wines in every port. Other passengers have told me that there were restrictions on other cruise lines and/or journeys depending on the port of call....so best to check before directly with the Cruise line on rules. Good Luck and have fun. I am awaiting my 15th cruise. I use a designated small suitcase (with wheels) and I pack it with 1.75 ltr bottles + some mixes. I pack some clothing items around the bottles for crash protection...I check the bag with the porter and it is delivered to my room in about 2 hours. I use the empty suitcase to pack things I have bought when I come home. Never a problem. ps. Use plastic bottles. Not the glass.... Good luck. Just pour the liquor into water bottles, and put it in your checked in luggage. Do not try to bring it in your carry-on luggage. If they find it they will take it away. They randomly x-ray checked in luggage, but I have been on 10 cruises and have always brought it in that way. Best tip is don't do it. If they catch you trying to sneak alcohol on board, they can refuse to let you board. If they catch you with it on the ship, they can desembark you at the next port. Most of the people who have fallen off of ships have done this, so they are getting very strict about it. |
