How do Royal Caribbean and Princess compare to each other?

Travel Info
Fodors says Princess is a notch above RC. I have been on RC and it was great.

Travel Tips
Princess is alittle more up scale. You don't have the singing waiters, (which I miss) and you don't have to dance for your desert in the dining room like you do on RC. RC has dancing waiters and they interact and are alot more fun then the waiters on Princess.
The food is comparible, and the activities and cabins are all about the same.
I've been on Princess, Royal Caribbean, NCL and Disney. And RC is my favorite hands down.
Others
I have not been on Princess but I can say Royal Caribbean was great. It was better than Norwegian.
I have only been on both cruise lines, and price wise, they are comparative, but as far as offering outstanding service, RC is top notch.
I think that Princess is more expensive, and that they are more for an older type crowd, of retirees, and etc. I just think that RCCL is more for families and they have so much more to do on their ships, and they have a wide variety of prices and destinations, and they just interact more with the guest, but from what I have heard, both are great cruise lines.
Sorry, I have to comment - no dancing waiters? That's the best part! Yes, princess is known to be slightly more upscale than Royal Carribbean. Both RC and Carnival are very similar for the money, though.
You may have to wait and see how the Princess Cruise line changes now that Carnival owns them.
