Any one every worked on a cruise ship? |
Travel Info What are the pro's and con's of it? I'm thinking about sending in a resume but I want to be sure this is something I want to do before I sign a 8 month contract(if the hire me) and what a little input from someone who's worked on one. Travel Tips I worked nearly 10 years as a photographer on board cruise ships. pro: you don't spend money for rent/ utilities/ food, get to see a lot of places, working with people from all over the globe con: long hours work, depending on your position you have to share a cabin with 1-6 other people, very strict rules and regulations I loved every moment of the time I spend on board. But I have also seen many people quiting after just a couple of weeks because they couldn't get used to the working hours, etc, etc. Others i was exec chef manager for p&o for 3 years what position are you going for and what is the amount of the contract, of course you will be away from home, and home sick but the pay is good. You can email if you want. International Traveler Royal Caribbean, almost nine years, bartending, its a definite sacrifice you miss family, friends and a lot of other privileges, on the other hand you meet a lot of great people, make lots of new friends, besides its a great way to travel cheap and get paid to do it too, i say try it if you dont like it dont go back |
