Can you bring your own champagne on a cruise?

Travel Tips
If you look at the regulations of any cruise line you will see that it is NOT okay to bring any alcohol on board. Reason? you are going from one country to another, etc. and it is illegal to transport alcohol between countries. Simple as that. Yes, many peole smuggle it but with the new security, the chance of your luggage being inspected is darn near 100% so why try? The dining rooms are very accomodating. If you order a bottle of wine or champagne with dinner, and there's some left in bottle, they will deliver it with glasses to your cabin for you. Cruises are so reasobale and all-inclusive , don't cheap out with smuggling in your booze!

Others
I was told I could but I had to pay for a corkage fee through the Princes line. I do not know about the other cruise lines.
A corkage fee may be assessed if you drink it in the dining room. Not if you drink it in your cabin.
Depends on the cruise line. A rule of thumb is that the less expensive they are, the more they will charge you for everything. I have limited myself to Regent. Sure it costs more up front, but they don't try to nickle and dime you for everything. If fact, it's almost impossible to pay for anything. That includes drinks, inter-net, tips, anything.
Any alcoholic beverages are taken when you board, for a fee you are allowed to open it and drink it on board. Some fees are $14.00-$16.00 per bottle. If you purchase it at a port stop you will have to leave it when you board the ship at the ship's entrance you can pick it up when you land back at your last port.
