No that is not true. My brother works on the crystal symphony he started out doing bar work. He had no experience at all on a ship only bar work on land. So just keep trying he did and got the job!!

You probably have to be "easy on the eyes."

Also, previous experience in a customer service or waiter/waitress job wouldn't hurt.
I would say exceptions may be your personality, and looks
