Honeymoon--Carnival Cruise?

Travel Info
We are getting married April 28 and then taking our honeymoon the week of September 24. A gentleman I work with suggested we go on a cruise, and once I got to looking, I really liked the idea.

We signed up on Carnival Cruise Lines for a 4 day cruise in the Western Carribean. *only $252 after taxes and everything*

We've never ever cruised before.

Anyone have some words of advice? Thanks!!

Travel Tips
Great idea. This time period is hurricane season and probably why you got such a good deal. Take
"Bonine" you can buy it at Walmart or any drug store. If by chance you run into rough waters it will save your trip. If you can see the waters getting rough take a tablet as early as you can--if you wait til your stomache is quizy it will be too late. The drinks can be pricey. Once you get on board they issue a debit card and you pay for drinks, excursions, pictures, on-ship store purchases on this debit card. So you wont be surprised at the end of the trip, I like to do a running total of what I am spending so that at the end of the trip when you settle your bill, you wont be blown away. Make sure you take a camera and take a lot of pictures. The more pictures you take the more you will be able to recapture the wonderful time you will have and your relatives will enjoy seeing them. They take pictures on the cruise and you get to view and purchase them. They are taken by professionals and I would definitely purchase some--they are worth the money. Check out the excursions ahead of time because all the good ones book real early. Ask Carnival to send you a listing prior to your trip. It explains what they have and how much it costs so that you have time to make your decision. Definitely go on these excursions--I felt they were definitely worth the money. As soon as you board the ship, book your excursions at the front desk--don't wait. The cruise line has hair dryers and irons--no need to pack them and waste space in your suitcase. Take travelers checks--in case you lose them or they get stollen they can be replaced. Pay with credit card on the islands because the credit card company does the money conversion and you always get the accurate cost. Go to the Captains dinner and dress up --it is a lot of fun Take the 2nd dinner seating because it gives you more time when you go on excursions and gives you time to get showered and dressed for dinner and ready for the evening shows/entertainment. They will give you a listing of all the activities on a daily basis--try to do as many as you can because they are more fun than they sound on paper. To avoid sea sickness never look at the bottom of any curtains/ shower curtains as when they move because it could make you nausious. Look straight ahead. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy and Congratulations on your Wedding. You will have a blast. Source(s): cruiser
