Travel to Cuba by US citizens in severely restricted by the US Government. Travelers must either qualify for a specific license, as a student on an study program, or meet strict criteria of a general license, bascially you must be traveling to Cuba as a professional - journalist, physcian, etc.

IF you meet these qualifications your travel to Cuba must be organized byone of a select few travel agencies that holds a US Treasury Dept. TSP (Travel Service Provider) License.

Private US citizens who attempt to travel to Cuba outside these parameters are in violation of Federal law. If apprehended by US Customs officials (who regularly patrol airports in Mexico and Canada) are subject to substantial fines and potential incarceration.
