Has anyone been to Santa Lucia, Cuba? |
Travel Info I am planning to go to Santa Lucia this summer. I was wondering if anyone can tell me more about this island. How big is the town and about night activities away from the resort Club Amigo Mayanabo. Travel Tips Hi, I went last February and am actually going again next week. Santa Lucia is a small beach resort town with not a lot nearby. There are only 4 hotels on that strip, Mayanabo included. I stayed there when I went and I am staying there again this time. Its the smallet of the resorts but I hear the staff is the friendliest. They have nightly entertainment and have a piano bar I like to go to for some pre-drinking. There are 3 'nightclubs'. One, I believe is at the Gran Club Santa Lucia resort called 'La Jungla' and this is a very busy club. 90% full of tourists and I think its like a few pesos to get in but all your drinks are included. There is another one near the Caracol resort called 'Mar Verde' and that is pretty happening. More locals go there as do tourists, of course. And then when all that is done, everyone heads to the outdoor club called 'Rumbas' and that is always full of locals and its like an after-hours kinda place. All fun places to go to. I think to party in a bigger city, you would have to go to Camaguey, which is about an hour and 20 mins away. Santa Lucia has a very nice long stretch of beach and the water is awesome. There is another beach nearby called Playa Bonita that I did not check out last time that I want to this time. And also something called Cayo Sabinel that has one of those untouched beaches that is nice to go to if you want to get away from the main beach. Coco Beach is about a 10-15 min drive from the Mayanabo resort and its a nice beach too. Lots of locals there. They have a couple of nice little restaurants and also a small residential area there too. I've eaten at one of the locals' house there for dinner and it was great. Hmm, I dont know, I guess that's it for now. Anymore questions, feel free to ask away! T... |
