Traveling to Cuba...? |
Travel Info Ok, so we have an embargo against Cuba... I understand that there is no trading and traveling to Cuba from the USA. If I did want to go to Cuba for a week vacation, how would I do it and is it illegal? If I fly to Mexico and then catch a roundtrip flight from there to Havana, would this be a way around it? I hear many people saying "don't get caught", etc. So what are the do's and don'ts? I know one time a friend bought some Cuban cigars in Mexico and brought them back to the US unintentionally and when he gave them to his boss, he griped him out and told him it was illegal and that if would have gotten busted, it was jail time for him. So after hearing that, not sure what to think of the whole situation. My wife is wanting to visit Cuba but before I tell her NO, wanted to get some more info. Any info or websites are appreciated... thanks in advance... Travel Tips Cuba is so cool, your problemo is not just America but Cuba as well. I think the easiest route would be through Canada all major cities fly direct. your problems will begin when you land. American bank cards (visa/amex/mc) don't work in Cuba. Since you have to have a hotel booked you won't be able to pre pay it. The nicest thing about Cuba was no Americans! haha Maybe try booking a package from a Canadian travel agency. You could pay for the package with your US $ fly to Canada. If you want cuban cigars we have em here Good Voyage Others Don't get you're passport stamped in Cuba. Get it stamped in Canada or Mexico or wherever you get to Cuba from. Be careful how you buy your ticket. The government may trace it to you and fine you like CRAZY. If you wanna have problems again go!, but if you wanna have a good vacation with your wife go to the Dominican Republic they have better cigars ( ask Davidoff) than in Cuba but nobody make publicity of it, because the things you can get which are against the law are always better Thant the one麓s who are legal... But anyway believe me or not the cigars in the Dominican Republic are 100%!! and many things more.. need info : www.platinium-travel.com If your American you are not legally entitled to go to Cuba on vaction or otherwise without going through tons of red tape first, I would suggest if you were to risk it you do so at your own cause and pray you don't get caught, good luck. |
